Mathewses’ 58th
James and Lydia (Cooper) Mathews, of Tallassee, will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary Jan. 21 with a private dinner at Red Lobster.
The couple were married Jan. 21, 1955, at Chatsworth, Ga. The Rev. J.W. Dooley officiated.
Their family includes children Pam LaRue, of Franklin, Ky., and Rick Mathews, of Maryville.
Mr. Mathews retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in September 2003.
The couple attend Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
