Sorvillos’ 50th
Russ and Ann (Robert) Sorvillo, of Townsend, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary after a 21-day trip to Europe with friends by renewing their vows Oct. 13 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Townsend, Deacon Michael Nestor officiating. The ceremony was attended by family and friends and followed by a dinner party at the Lakeside Tavern in Knoxville.
The couple were married Oct. 13, 1962, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Astoria, N.Y. Father Holtsheimer officiated.
Their family includes children Cynthia Sorvillo, of Cary, N.C., and Robert Sorvillo, of Raleigh, N.C.
Mr. Sorvillo is retired from Eastern Air Lines Costco. Mrs. Sorvillo is retired from the Broward County School Board.
The couple are involved with St. Francis of Assisi, Tuckaleechee Garden Club and Book of the Month.
