Burns celebrates 95th birthday Saturday
Beatrice Carroll “Bea” Burns, of Maryville, will celebrate her 95th birthday with family July 21 at the home of her son Jim.
Mrs. Burns was born July 26, 1917, in Sevierville, to the late James Houston Carroll and Nora Thomas Carroll. She married her husband, O’Dell M. Burns, of Sept. 19, 1936. He died in May 1966. Her only sibling, Georgia Rudd Bird, died in August 2011.
Her family includes children Johnnie Mae Maynard Wise and husband Walter, of Rome, Ga., and James “Jim” Houston Burns and wife Betty, of Maryville. Her grandchildren include Blake Maynard, of Rome, Ga., Lonnie Burns, of Maryville, Monty Burns, of Walland, and step-grandson Scott Axley, of Maryville.
Mrs. Burns is a lifetime member of Walland United Methodist Church.
