Local students eligible for tuition-free semester
Several local students, all freshmen at Union College, are eligible for a tuition-free final semester at Union College, thanks to Pres. Marcia Hawkins.
The students from Blount County that are eligible are Steven Luther Bailes and Lexus Ciera Thompson, both of Maryville, Zachary Thanuel Chapman of Rockford, Erin Leigh Cooper and Steven Lamar Manuel, both of Alcoa, and Hogan Jared Goodson, of Greenback.
To receive the award, there are certain stipulations students must meet, such as maintaining a 3.5 grade point average and graduating in four years.
