Schmitt celebrates 94th birthday
Louise Schmitt, of Maryville, is celebrating her 94th birthday today. She had a party at Maryville Towers and will enjoy a three-day celebration with friends and out-of-state relatives this weekend. She was born June 29, 1918 in Montgomery, Ala, to the late Ed and Maggie McGehee. She was married to the late Frank Joseph Schmitt. Her family includes son Frank Schmitt and wife Bobbie, of Huddleston, Va., daughter Ethel Brown and husband Ray, of Alcoa and daughter the late Dorothy Lisenby. She has eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Schmitt was employed at Schmittâs Grocery in Crenshaw County, Ala. She is a past member of the Montgomery Doll Club and attends First Baptist Church in Alcoa. She loved to make dolls and now enjoys reading. To keep active, she walks around Maryville Towers twice in the morning and twice each evening.
