A Maryville horse trainer accused of cruelty to livestock
has been ordered to vacate the barn he has been renting by June 10.
Larry Joe Wheelon, 68, Miracle Landing, has been using the
barn at 2743 Tuckaleechee Pike as part of Larry Wheelon Stables. He reached an agreement with the
Carrie Harris estate administrator to vacate.
Wheelon and his attorney, Rob
White, and estate administrator, Kay Talbott, appeared before Blount County General Sessions Court
Judge William R. Brewer Jr. Wednesday morning.
The barn owners sought his
eviction after Wheelon was charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to livestock following a
raid on the barn on April 18 and the seizure of 19 of 28 horses on April
Talbott filed a detainer warrant seeking his eviction on April 30. “It
is time for him to go,” Talbott said at the time.
