Arrest made in Wednesday Maryville bank robbery

From Staff Reports

Authorities have made an arrest in connection to the Wednesday afternoon robbery of the Capital Bank on Foothills Mall Drive in Maryville.

Timothy Lee Inman Jr., 37, of Deer Run Road in Maryville, was arrested Friday evening in the parking lot of the Maryville Walmart, located at 2410 U.S. 411 S., according to a news release from the Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Inman is currently being held at the Blount County Justice Center without bond.

The arrest is the result of cooperative efforts of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF), composed of the FBI, the Knoxville Police Department (KPD), and Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), in conjunction with the Maryville Police Department (MPD) and the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

Inman is believed to be the man who entered the Capital Bank, located at 403 Foothills Mall Drive in Maryville, at around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday. He passed a note to the teller and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the subject fled on foot and was last seen heading down Howard Jones Road towards Highland Acres subdivision. A Blount County K-9 deputy responded to the scene and in an attempt to track the suspect, which was unsuccessful.

Authorities said they anticipate Inman to appear before the United States District Court in Knoxville on Monday.
