Greenback man dies from wreck injuries
From Staff Reports
A Greenback man has died from injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash last week.
Kenneth Wayne McCoy, 48, North Trigonia Road, died Tuesday at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he had remained hospitalized since the Sept. 18 crash, according to a nursing supervisor.
McCoy was traveling east on Mint Road in a 2006 Nissan Titan pickup truck at about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree on the right side of the road, according to Blount County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Marian O’Briant. The air bags in McCoy’s truck deployed, but he was not wearing his seat belt.
