Louisville drowning victim recovered from Fort Loudoun Lake

Authorities recovered the body of a Louisville man from Fort Loudoun Lake this afternoon.
Jeffrey Lynn Smith, 48, Quarry Road, Louisville, was identified as the man who apparently drowned. His body was recovered from Louisville Marina.SClBBlount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said the Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency worked together to recover the body.
Sheriff’s office deputies responded to Louisville Marina on Louisville Road at around 1 p.m. today on a welfare check on Smith, who had not been seen since late last night on a boat anchored at the marina.
The Blount Special Operations Response Team (BSORT) and agents with also TWRA responded to the scene. Smith was located in eight feet of water near the dock and his body was recovered shortly before 4 p.m.
The drowning appears accidental, and no foul play is suspected.
