A unidentified man was found bleeding from his head after an apparent suicide attempt in George’s River off Fort Loudoun Lake and the TWRA Boat Ramp in Louisville this afternoon.
Details are very sketchy, but rescue workers with the Blount County Rescue Squad and Blount County Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to pull the man from the river just after 4 p.m. He apparently jumped off a nearby bridge, according to dispatchers, and was later found by some fishermen.
Rural/Metro transported the man to the hospital. The Alcoa Fire and Police Departments were also on the scene.
More details will follow as they become available and in Thursday’s print edition of The Daily Times.
