Pill mill owner’s boyfriend arrested in Florida

From Staff Reports

The U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee have announced that Brian Hatcher, 32, of Maryville, was arrested Thursday night in Orlando, Fla.

Hatcher was arrested under federal charges of harboring a fugitive and threatening witnesses. These federal charges are the result of the developing investigation on Hatcher’s involvement with Tamral “Tammy” Guzman absconding from her federal trial as well as allegations of witness intimidation.

Guzman, former owner of Maryville Pain Clinic, was arrested in Hollywood, Fla., Wednesday, about a month after she had fled her federal trial on drug and money laundering charges.

Once the federal warrant was in place, East Tennessee Marshals forwarded information on Hatcher’s likely whereabouts to deputy marshals in Florida. Officers located Hatcher’s Honda Civic parked outside the home of a known associate in Orlando Thursday night and quickly arrested him as he exited the house. Hatcher did not resist.

Deputy marshals believe Hatcher not only accompanied, but substantially assisted, Guzman in fleeing and hiding from the authorities.
