Protomet expands Oak Ridge operations, relocates Blount jobs
Protomet in Oak Ridge announced this morning that it is expanding and adding 30 new positions.
The company was founded in 1997 as an engineering construction firm and was a Technology 2020 incubator facility in Oak Ridge.
Facilities will be consolidated.
Currently the company operates facilities composed of 16,000 square feet of space and when Phase II of the expansion is complete will be in one facility that is close to 40,000 square feet, said Jeff Bohanan, founder and president of Promet.
The company operation on Middlesettlements Road will be moved to Oak Ridge and the 10 employees have been offered jobs at the Oak Ridge facility. The Blount County facility will be closed.
Phase II is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
