Arika Jordan McDonald, daughter of Jim and Karla McDonald, of Maryville, is engaged to marry Daniel George Lowe, son of Gary and B.J. Lowe, of Russellville, at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Willow Tree Cove. Invitations have been sent.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mary Jones, of Caruthersville, Mo., the late Harold Jones, the late Betty McDonald Wilson and the late Leroy McDonald.
The future bridegroom is the grandson of Freeda Davidson, of Russellville, the late George Davidson, ant the late George and Zula Lowe.
The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Alcoa High School, a 2010 graduate of Walters State Community College with an Associate of Science degree in general studies and a 2013 nursing graduate from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Knoxville. She is employed as a nurse at Asbury Assisted Living in Maryville. She will continue her education in the LPN to RN transition program at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Va.
The bridegroom-to-be is a 2009 graduate of Morristown-Hamblen High School East and a 2013 graduate of Carson-Newman University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in human services and military leadership. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant on May 9 and will serve in the Transportation and Logistics Branch of the United States Army. He is presently completing Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC B) at Fort Lee, Va., and will graduate on Oct. 10.
