Blount County grand jury hands down 13 indictments

The Blount County grand jury handed down 13 indictments Monday, including one against a 28-year-old Maryville man who allegedly inappropriately touched a 12-year-old girl.
Jess James Todd, 28, Rule Street, Maryville, was accused of engaging in unlawful sexual contact with a child less than 13 years of age between Sept. 14-20, 2010.
Todd allegedly touched the 12-year-old girl’s genital area, according to the arrest warrant.
Todd was indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual battery. He is scheduled to appear at a future hearing in Blount County Circuit Court on the charges.
The grand jury also indicted 12 other people:
• Ida Marie Click, 40, Seals Crossing Way, Maryville, on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, violation of the implied consent law, driving on a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and speeding from a March 1, 2010, incident;
• Christopher A. Crissey, 24, Swarthmore Lane, Maryville, on a count of driving under the influence of an intoxicant from a March 3, 2010, incident;
• Kurt Parker Davis, 31, Doc Norton Road, Maryville, on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and violation of the implied consent law from a Feb. 10, 2010, incident;
• Leah Christine Ensminger, 26, Penn Marydel Way, Maryville, on a count of driving under the influence of an intoxicant from a Jan. 28, 2010, incident;
• Zachary Kenneth Goins, 22, Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, on a count of reckless driving from a July 1, 2010, incident;
• Tyrone David Haley, 27, Eagleton Road, Maryville, on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and violation of the implied consent law from a May 17, 2010, incident;
• Sharon Rose Kniffin, 64, Robinson Drive, Louisville, on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant and violation of the implied consent law from a Jan. 12, 2010, incident;
• Billy Edward Lowe III, 27, Rocky Branch Road, Walland, on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (second offense) and violation of the implied consent law from a March 19, 2010, incident;
• Sunny Charles Manis, 23, Sevierville, on a count of theft of property less than $500 from an Oct. 20, 2010, incident;
• Buford Glen Phillips, 46, Oliver Springs, on a count of driving under the influence of an intoxicant from a May 17, 2009, incident;
• James Douglas Rumpf, 48, Hopewell Road, Maryville, on a count of driving under the influence of an intoxicant from a May 2, 2010, incident;
• George A. Schlumbohm, 44, St. Cloud, Fla., on counts of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, violation of the implied consent law and violation of the move over law from a March 6, 2010, incident.
