Blount teams put offense out front in Week 0 tilts
Opening night turned out to be a good one for Blount County as the curtain came up on the 2013 prep football season in Week Zero.
William Blount got the Justin Ridge era off to a solid start giving the Gov alum win No. 1 at his alma mater on the road at Loudon.
Maryville and Alcoa flexed their muscles early as the traditional rivals prepare to face off in another installment of the Six-Mile series. The Rebels handled Webb at home while the Tornadoes were throwing a shutout in coach Gary Rankin’s childhood stomping grounds.
Just on the edges Greenback started off strong against Sweetwater and Seymour held on for a Thursday win at Sullivan North.
The only low note was at The King’s Academy where the first game for Matt Lowe didn’t go as well as hoped but was a scoringfest all night on both sides.
