A body was found by two fishermen in Little River at the William M. “Bill” Bennett Memorial Bridge (Coulter’s Bridge) in Walland Thursday afternoon.

According to Blount County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Marian O’Briant, the men were fishing near the bridge at Tuckaleechee Pike and Old Walland Highway at about 2:30 p.m. when they found the victim in the water.

After spotting the body, they called 911. The unidentified victim was reported to be a white male in his 30s.

The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing the investigation. An autopsy was scheduled for today at University of Tennessee Medical Center, O’Briant said.
