Four in custody in burglary, thefts

Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp said authorities have four people in custody in connection with a series of thefts in Blount County.
Thomas Houston Presley, 33, Meade Street, and Jeremy Nelson Helton, 31, Jackson Avenue, both of Maryville, were arrested by Maryville Police in connection with a burglary and two thefts. Both were charged with one count of burglary of a building and two counts of theft from a building. Presley was being held in lieu of $30,000 bond, while Helton was being held in lieu of $25,000 bond plus an additional $1,500 bond on two attachment warrants.
Donald Earl Jenkins, 32, Cecelia Avenue, Maryville, was charged with burglary of a building and Misti Lynn Hearon, 30, Stafford Road, Maryville, was arrested on a charge of theft from a building. Jenkins was released on $5,000 bond while Hearon was being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
All four were scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Tuesday hearings in Blount County General Sessions Court.
Presley and Helton were being held in connection with the theft of an air conditioning unit from an East Broadway Avenue business, the theft of metals and various other items from an outbuilding owned by the City of Maryville on Wheeler Road in Rockford as well as a theft incident at a Sevierville Road residence.
Jenkins was charged in connection with the East Broadway Avenue theft while Hearon was being held in connection with the Wheeler Road burglary.
These arrests come after a rash of A/C unit and copper wiring thefts are being reported at businesses and residences across the county. Chief Crisp said authorities are still investigating these incidents and that additional charges may be pending in connection with these recent thefts.
