Greenback man dies from crash on Aug. 9

A Greenback man died Thursday morning from his injuries in a one-car accident that occurred on Aug. 9 in Loudon County.

According to a report from Sgt. Jimmy Whitt of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, at approximately 10:23 a.m., Gary J. Gregory, 55, was driving a 1991 International truck, traveling southbound on Phelps Road in Loudon County and attempted to turn onto Point Harbor Road, when his vehicle overturned.

Gregory was pronounced dead by the University of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office. He was not wearing a seat belt, Whitt said.
