The pre-trial hearing for Michael Ray Linginfelter was reset for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 16 after an arrangement was made with Blount County General Sessions Judge Robert L. Headrick.
Linginfelter’s attorney, Damon Wooten, and assistant district attorney Ellen Berez made the arrangement during Linginfelter’s scheduled hearing Thursday afternoon in Blount County General Sessions Court.
They were briefly called into Headrick’s chambers to discuss the deal.
Linginfelter, 43, Heather Glen Drive, Maryville, was charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in Alcoa during the early morning hours of Dec. 24 last year. He is being held without bond on three charges of aggravated assault and one count of violating an order of protection.
Headrick told Linginfelter the order of protection continues to stand, and he is not to have any contact with his ex-wife, Virginia Dome, who was present during Thursday’s hearing.
Linginfelter is accused of pulling a handgun and firing several rounds at Dome outside her Remsen Street residence.
According to the police report, the rounds struck two vehicles parked in her driveway, causing about $4,000 in damage. Dome’s 33-year-old brother told police he chased Linginfelter in one of the vehicles to the train trestle at Bessemer Street. He said Linginfelter then sped off toward Hall Road.
Linginfelter was taken into custody six days later — Friday, Dec. 31 — by Blount County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
