Maryville Kiwanis donates $5,400 to local youth

Maryville Kiwanis Club gave checks totaling $5,400 to four local organizations at a recent Kiwanis meeting.

Grants included:

• Maryville College, $2,000 for two $1,000 scholarships for deserving students.

• Community Food Connection, $2,400 to buy important items that are not always donated.

• Big Brothers and Big Sisters, $500

• Boys & Girls Club of Blount County, $500.

In addition to helping these organizations, Maryville Kiwanis gives Blount County Imagination Library $55,000 annually to provide books to 4,500 kids monthly as well as funding the Leadership Adventure Camp at Camp Wesley Woods for 35 middle schoolers.
