Police find meth lab at home: Maryville homeowner arrested

Charges are pending against a Maryville man after authorities found a nonworking meth lab inside his residence on Old Clover Hill Road Thursday evening.

Investigators with the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence at around 6:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Blount County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search, they found a non-operating meth lab inside the home, located in the 100 block of Old Clover Hill Road. The homeowner was taken into custody and transported to the Blount County Jail. Charges against the man are currently pending.

The Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force responded to the residence to dispose of the lab. The Blount County Fire Department also responded to provide assistance, sending one engine and two firefighters. Rural/Metro Ambulance Service personnel were also on scene.

Additional information, including the identity of the homeowner taken into custody, will be available today, police said.
