Power restored in main areas, very few still without electricity
From Staff Reports
Officials with different electric companies in Blount County and the surrounding area are reporting that as of Sunday evening, a majority of the homes have had their power restored following storms that hit Blount County and the surrounding area Thursday.
In Maryville and on the Blount/Sevier County line, power has been fully restored.
In Alcoa, a majority of the power has been fully restored, but as of early Sunday evening there were still 10 homes that were still without power, but officials were looking to resolve the issue.
Alcoa Electric Supervisor Troy Morgan said that several service lines still needed to be repaired, due to downed trees that put down power lines around homes.
“We’ve had to work the whole thing by ourselves,” Morgan said, “but we have been doing good.”
Fort Loudon Electric Cooperative reported four outages as of 8:23 p.m. Sunday.
