Blount County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for two suspects in a robbery on the grounds of the Friendsville Town Hall early Saturday morning.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, representatives of Friendsville Public Works and the city’s Citizens Community Improvement Organization reported at 7:59 a.m. Saturday that a gas can was seen sitting on the ground next to a Friendsville city truck, and also noticed a lock on an outbuilding belonging to the organization had been pried off.
Video surveillance showed two white males, who looked like they could have been teenagers, attempting to open the tool compartments of all the Friendsville service trucks, the town hall doors and behind the town hall out of the camera view, according to the report.
There were two tote bags that were discovered to be missing, containing Christmas lights and large Christmas Tree ornaments.
The decorations were valued at $300, and there was $100 damage to the outbuilding door during the burglary.
The investigation is continuing.
