MADISONVILLE — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) is still looking into the case of a body that was found in the water at Kefauver Park near Madisonville early Sunday afternoon.
TBI had first told The Advocate & Democrat it was the body of a woman, but confirmed Monday it was the body of 19-year-old Zachary Tyler Wilson.
TBI said there are no obvious signs of foul play, however, a complete autopsy will determine the cause of death.
According to Wilson’s Facebook page, he had gone to school at least part of the time in Memphis, but his residence at the time of his death was listed as Englewood.
Madisonville Police Department Officer Gerald Summey said it was around 1:20 p.m. Sunday when he was sent to the park after a father and son reported seeing a body in the water. The father told Summey he and his son were looking for a spot to fish when the son saw what looked like a body in the water.
The father said he walked to the edge of the water and saw that it was indeed a body and called 911.
