Two arrested on heroin charges at Louisville apartment
From Staff Reports
Two men were arrested Wednesday night after investigators allegedly found heroin at a Louisville apartment.
Tyler James Hicks, 21, Kelly Circle, Louisville, and Raphael Cortez Ferguson, 34, Detroit, Mich., were both charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (heroin) with intent to resell. Bond amounts were not yet set Wednesday night. Both individuals were scheduled to appear at a 9 a.m. Oct. 2 hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court.
Three other individuals were taken into custody and later released.
The arrests came after investigators with the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force responded to an apartment complex on Kelly Circle in Louisville at around 5 p.m. after authorities received numerous complaints concerning heavy traffic at an apartment.
Upon arrival, investigators found two people inside a vehicle outside the apartment. One of the individuals inside the vehicle was using heroin intravenously, authorities said, and both individuals were detained.
Investigators spoke with the tenant of the apartment and she gave them consent to search the apartment. Investigators reported finding an ounce of heroin inside the apartment.
The investigation is continuing, and charges are pending on other individuals at the scene.
