Two treated at hospital following crash

From Staff Reports

Two people were injured Saturday in a two-vehicle accident in Alcoa which left one vehicle rolled over onto its top.

The crash occurred just before noon at the intersection of Louisville Road and the U.S. 129 Bypass. A Hyundai driven by Logan G. Long, 21, Maplecrest Drive, disregarded a red light at the intersection while traveling eastbound on Louisville Road, according to an Alcoa Police report.

A northbound Honda Civic driven by Tony E. Brock, 56, Lenoir City, was traveling northbound on the bypass and struck Long’s vehicle while both were traveling through the intersection. The light for northbound traffic on the bypass was green, the report states.

Long’s vehicle rolled over following the collision and came to rest on its top.

Long and a passenger in Brock’s vehicle, Joy Brock, 54, were transported via Rural/Metro Ambulance Service to Blount Memorial Hospital, where they were treated and released.

The Alcoa Fire Department also responded and assisted at the scene.

All three occupants were wearing seat belts and air bags were deployed inside both vehicles.
