Bobby McCampbell

Bobby Joe McCampbell, 70, passed away at his home in Townsend, Tenn., on November 26, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in South Pittsburg, Tenn., on November 15, 1942, he graduated from South Pittsburg High School and went on to graduate from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in business administration. He began his work career with Kroger in Knoxville, later moving to a career in sales in Anniston, Ala., where he became a member of the Gladeview Baptist Church. He retired 10 years ago and moved back to the mountains. Bobby will be remembered for his gentle nature and wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe R. McCampbell; and two nephews, Adam and Andrew Hughes. Survivors include his mother, Lucille W. McCampbell; sister and brother-in-law, Linda M. and J. Russell Smith; niece, Lora S. (Frank) Graha; and great-nephew, Damien Hughes. The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Thursday, November 29, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of Tennessee, 200 Prosperity Drive, Knoxville, TN 37923.
