Clearie Young Simpson
Clearie Young Simpson, age 84, our precious and much loved Mother and Grandmother, went to be home with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 9, 2012. A life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church, Alcoa, Clearie was an avid reader of Christian fiction books. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit, love of life, and for the endless passion that she had for her church, family, and many friends. Clearie was retired from Alcoa High School with 25 years of service. Clearie was preceded in death by husband, Ray James Simpson; daughter, Paula Simpson Lowe; daughter-in-law, Terry Shamblin Simspon; and granddaughter, Sydney Simpson. Clearie is survived by daughter, Sheila Simpson McKay, Alcoa; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Peggy Simpson of Knoxville; grandchildren, Chris Arnold, Atalie McKay, Noah McKay, Lindsey Calverley, Cherie Jump, Lori Moreland, Clint and Matthew Lowe, and 11 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Smith West Chapel on Friday, December 14, 2012, from 1-2 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
