Corum Berry
Corum Berry, of Maryville, passed away on February 26, 2013, at the age of 91, and joined his wife Twila in heaven. He was the oldest living member of Brantley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, a native of Sharps Chapel, Tenn., and a retiree of ALCOA Aluminum Company. He was a 50+ member of the Rockford Masonic Lodge and a former president of the Alcoa Retirement Club. During WWII, he served as a tech sergeant in the Army Air Corps. Corum was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Twila Berry; his parents, John and Mossie Berry; brother, Clifford Berry; sister, Genette Beason; son-in-law, Rick Steele; and grandson, Davis Berry. Survivors include children, Adrean Steele of Soddy-Daisy, Archie (Susan) Berry of Knoxville, and Linda (Danny) Graves of Maryville; sister, Mamie (Wayne) Brantley; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to nephew, David Beason, for his care of his “unc.” Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Smith Trinity Chapel with grandsons, Rev. Chris Graves and Rev. Sean Cordell officiating. Entombment will follow at 1 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Daniel Brantley officiating.
