Dale Lee (Sunny) Whitaker
Dale Lee (Sunny) Whitaker, age 62, of Maryville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, with family at his side. He was a member at First Baptist Church of Alcoa and Mustang Ministries. He was a graduate of Porter High School in 1969. Dale retired from ALCOA Aluminum Co. Preceded in death by wife, Brenda; parents, James and Betty Whitaker; sister, Kimberly Susan Whitaker; nephew, Shawn Myers. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Landon and Kathi Whitaker of Maryville; grandchildren, Sager Whitaker and Caden Whitaker; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Karen Whitaker of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Rick Myers of Walland; nephew and niece, Jamie Whitaker of Maryville and Michelle Myers of Rossville, Ga.; aunt, Carol Mason; uncle, Kyle Crawford. Funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012, at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Floyd Lambert officiating. Family and friends will assemble at noon Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment.
