Darryl Lee Phillips Sr.

Darryl Lee Phillips Sr., “Beloved of God,” born Nov. 25, 1965, died suddenly on January 31, 2013, of heart failure. Darryl was survived by his wife, Cheri Metcalf Phillips of Maryville; son, Darryl Lee Phillips II; and daughter, Alexandria Hayze Phillips of Oneida, Tenn.; father and mother, Denzil Lee and Sandra B. Phillips of Huntsville. Tenn.; brother, Denny Phillips of Nashville; sister, Denise Lynn Keeton and husband, Mike of Huntsville; sister, Danielle and husband Kent Strunk of Pine Hill, Oneida. Survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews. He is a 1985 graduate of Scott High School and a senior member of the 1984 Scott Highlanders District Championship football team. Daryl was employed at Chick-fil-a at Hunter’s Crossing, who he considered extended family. Darryl touched many lives and will be loved and missed by all who knew him. His spirit lives on. The family received friends for a celebration of his life at White Rock Baptist Church in Huntsville, Tenn., February 2, 2013.
