Dennis Tipton Livesay

Dennis Tipton Livesay, age 78, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born February 7, 1934, in Sneedville, Tenn. He graduated from Hancock County High School in 1952, and was a graduate of the Northrop Institute of Technology of Los Angeles. Dennis proudly served in the United States Air Force and Tennessee Air National Guard. He loved his country, his family and his many friends. He loved to travel and sing Karaoke. Preceded in death by parents, Prior Tipton “Tip” Livesay and Mary Campbell Livesay; sisters, Nell Greene and Ruth Brewer; twin brother, Douglas Boyd Livesay. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Eileen Krogh Livesay; sisters, Katie Berdolt and Lois Eddleman; daughter, Marilyn Livesay; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Margaret Livesay; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Kurt Akamine; five grandchildren, Marlon Livesay Yates, Hayden and Hayley Livesay, and Erin and Ezra Akamine; numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and inurnment with military honors at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, Knoxville, with a military chaplain and Fr. Bill McNeeley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, ATTN: Donor Services, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville FL 32256, or the charity of your choice.
