Dorothy Onita Blair
Dorothy Onita Blair, age 85, of Maryville, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, December 6, 2012, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 27, 1927, in Anderson County. Dorothy worked at Levi-Strauss and then for Knoxville Manufacturing in Powell, where she retired after several years of employment. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for 60 years. She loved gardening, cooking, animals, and enjoyed collecting then fixing up collectibles and antiques. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, Matt Stringfield; mother, Hazel Gertrude Jones; beloved daughter, Vicky Rigby; sisters, Mary Booker, Peggy Epperson, Opal Gass, and Irene Walker; brother, Ed Stringfield; sister-in-law, Ruth Gaynell Hood; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Com and Dicie Blair; aunt and uncle, Susie and Howard Flynn; and cousin, Skipper Flynn. She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Winferd L. Blair; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Beverly England; stepson-in-law, David Rigby; nieces, Emma Lee Durham, Linda Pence, and Sharon Coope; nephew, Eddie Booker; beloved friend and caregiver, Vickie Icenhower; dear friends, Bill and Sondra Hedberg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. Tony Collins officiating.
