Edmond Jackson Suggs
Edmond Jackson Suggs put away his suspenders on Sept. 14, 2013. Born in Birmingham May 30, 1937, he is survived by five children, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother, and dear friend, Joanie Hiner. Preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses Suggs and Ophelia Gladney Suggs and his loving beautiful wife of 48 years, Patsy Bogle Suggs. Much loved by his family and church, his big heart was filled with mischief and kindness, shared with everyone he met. He left as he lived, helping others, as an organ donor. EJ served in the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Civil Service for 35 years. He was enthusiastically devoted to his church family, Maryville Church of Christ. A 20-year Maryville resident, he stayed true to Roll Tide roots. Described by some as “the most loved man in Maryville.” We’re gonna miss you, you old goat! In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Maryville Church of Christ EEU to purchase bibles in Russia, P.O. Box 5293, Maryville, TN 37802. Graveside service will be Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Williamson Chapel Cemetery. Cremation by Grandview, Maryville, 865-806-8170.
