Ernest “Pickle” Bryant

Ernest “Pickle” Bryant, age 99, died peacefully in his sleep at home in Friendsville, Tennessee, Saturday morning, February 23rd, 2013. He was born June 14, 1913, in Manchester, Georgia, and later moved to Alcoa, Tennessee, with his family due to his father obtaining a job with Alcoa Aluminum Company. Pickle followed in his father footsteps and worked at the Alcoa Aluminum Company for 49 years. He and Margaret Bryant (deceased- 1985) had a blended family of 8 children. Preceded in death his parents, Isaac and Adline Bryant, sister, Flutchie B. Tolbert, daughter, Dorothy Anderson and son, Billy Bryant. Pickle leaves to cherish his memories, daughter; Barbara Sadler of Knoxville, TN, Emma Jean Taylor of Jackson, TN, Flutchie “Dee Dee” Horton (Frank ) of Friendsville, TN, Judy Carter (Jacob) of Knoxville,TN., Linda Kinte (Don Johnson) of Louisville, TN, and Ernestine “Neda” Hardnett ( Brown) of Knoxville Tennessee. He also leaves his cherished nieces Claudette Kirk and Annie Sudderth of Alcoa, Gwendolyn (Ronald) Black of Oak Ridge, TN. Pickle also leaves his close cousin, Lewis Buchanan, along with a lovely tribe of grand, great and great-great grandchildren stretching five generations. Special thanks for the dedication of love and care to his granddaughter and her family (Angel, Steve, Kortney and Jordan Scott), his wonderful friend and son-in-law Joshua “aka” Brown Hardnett and his daughters, Neda Williams and Dee Dee Horton. Another special thanks to Judy Vaughn and Lillian Brimm from Home Instead Senior Care for providing special care to Pickle and the family during this period. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel. The interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
