Franklin Everett Robinson
Franklin Everett Robinson, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013, at U.T. Medical Center. Frank was a loving husband and uncle. He was member of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church. Frank was born in New York, but was raised in Jamaica. Returning to the States in 1954, he earned degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Business at Ohio State University. Frank retired in 2007 as a Senior Staff Engineer at ALCOA with more than 40 years of service. His diverse passions included a love of European travel with his wife, Helen, most recently, an Alaskan Cruise. Frank enjoyed jazz, classical music and was a member of the Chamber Music Association, supporting the arts, including the Clarence Brown Theatre. He always enjoyed a hearty, insightful discussion of politics and economics. He served as Treasurer of ALCOA’s Federal Credit Union for many years. An avid reader, Frank had an unwavering commitment to the strength and value of a good education. Frank was preceded in death by his sisters, Cynthia Fisher and Beryl Robinson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Helen Ann Robinson; nephews, Hugh Fisher (Vanessa), Courtney Fisher (Sandra) and Leighton Fisher (Donna); several great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Ralph Lyford, Trigve Tonas and Al Cage. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., January 26, 2013, at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Carol E. Westpfahl officiating. A reception will follow in Tharpe Hall.
