Gerlene (Geraldine) Stinnett Kirby
Gerlene (Geraldine) Stinnett Kirby, age 90, of Maryville, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013. She was born at Elkmont, Tenn., on May 7, 1922. She was the seventh child of Willie and Polly Ogle Stinnett. Gerlene was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Clell, Gentry, and James; sisters, Pearl, Della, Dorothy Stinnett Cogdill and Vada Stinnett Pack; beloved husband, Clyde G. Kirby. Survivors include daughter, Linda C. Kirby; son and daughter-in-law, George Clyde (Sonny) and Peggy Kirby; grandchildren, John and Catherine Kirby of Chattanooga, Jennifer and Brock Hirschy of Virginia, Robert and Chelsey Kirby of Maryville; great-grandchildren, Grace, Joseph, and Rose Kirby, Cordia and Lydia Hirschy, Brayden and Carter Kirby; sister, Lorene Stinnett Campbell; brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Anah Stinnett of Pigeon Forge; several wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gerlene was a Godly Christian woman who read her Bible and prayed daily. She was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. February 8, 2013, at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Doug Hayes and Rev. Henry Linginfelter officiating.
