Gloyster Thomas (Speedy) Phillips

Gloyster Thomas (Speedy) Phillips, 82, of Maryville, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at his home. He was retired from the City of Alcoa Water Department after a half of a century of service. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Phillips. He is survived by his children, Yohna McPeek of Oregon, Pam Lonas of Nashville, Ricky Phillips of Townsend, Marilyn Ellison of Louisville, Carolyn Elliot of Townsend; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; girlfriend, Jackie Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Margery and Earl Helms of Gatlinburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyle and Beverly Phillips of Loudon, Ronald and Patricia Phillips of Friendsville, several nieces and nephews and family members. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville, with burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
