James ‘Jaime’ Christopher Polkow
James “Jaime” Christopher Polkow, 41, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born on June 4, 1971, in Hillsdale, Mich., to Barb Wood and the late Dave Polkow. Jaime graduated from William Blount High School, where he excelled in track and swimming. He was an avid outdoors man, who loved white water rafting, spending time with his son, River, and anything that spelled fun. Jaime was preceded in death by his father, Dave Polkow; and grandfather, Don Newell. Left to cherish Jaime’s memories are his parents, Barb and Rob Wood, Maryville; brother, Josh Polkow, Hillsdale, Mich.; grandmothers, Vi Cash, Florida, and Edna Newell, Michigan; grandparents, Alice (Bill) Hale, Arizona, and Jim (Genieve) Polkow, Arizona, his son, River Tipton and life companion, Brook Tipton, Maryville; extended family, Aunt Kim Henry, Maryville, Claire (Jake) Carter, Maryville, Shakti Schuestrick, Tucson, Ariz., Jason (Shelly) Broyles, Philadelphia, Tenn., notable friend, Heather Hutchinson, Knoxville; as well as a host of family, friends, and loved ones whose life he touched. Jaime was full of life and personality, which he shared with all who knew and loved him. He will be sadly missed by many. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, for the exceptional care given, and to all those who lifted this entire family in prayer and love during this difficult time.
