Joe Allen Tarwater
Joe Allen Tarwater, age 72, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was an avid beekeeper, hunter and antique dealer. Preceded in death by parents, Gene “E.R.” and Bessie Hall Tarwater; and brothers, Ross Lyten, Jack Tarwater and John Tarwater. Survived by wife, Sue Tarwater; son, Allen Tarwater of Greenback; daughter, Stephanie Tarwater of Maryville and Beth Tarwater Morton (Marty Phillips) of Maryville; grandchildren, Autum Evans, A.J. Tarwater, C.J. Tarwater, and Logan Morton; brother, Ben Tarwater of Greenback; mother-in-law, Wanda Smelcer of Maryville; and special friend, J.R. Blair of Maryville. Pallbearers include Todd Cabe, Doc Dockery, Mike Collins, Roy Ogle, C.J. Tarwater, Don Tarwater, Billy Long, and Steve Adair. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Kerr, J.R. Blair, Logan Morton, and A.J. Tarwater. Funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ronnie Steele and Rev. Rex Everett officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Baker’s Creek Cemetery.
