Joel Leon Dixon

Joel Leon Dixon, age 68, of Friendsville, was called to Heaven on Saturday, November 17, 2012, after a battle with cancer. Joel was born November 15, 1944. He was over a one million mile retired truck driver that loved to discuss the Bible with everyone that he met. He was a member of High Praises Church and Unitia Lodge #295. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anna Mae Dixon; brothers, Carl, Robert, and David Dixon, and Gordon Humphrey; and sister, Alma Fife. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Brenda Coleman Dixon; daughters, Pamela Hall, Marilyn Helton and son-in-law, Danny Hall that loved him greatly; grandchildren, Melissa Hall and Blake Tucker; great-grandchildren, Emma Walker, Kaylee and Shaelyn Tucker; brother James Dixon; sister, Imogene Law; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Gwen, Jennie and Darlene Dixon, and Geneva Humphrey; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Herbert Holden. Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Midkiff officiating. Interment service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery.
