John H. King
John H. King, age 77, of Maryville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served from 1956-58. He was a graduate of Duke University in Durham, N.C., earned his MS Degree from the University of Minnesota and retired from the University of Tennessee in Hospital Administration. Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Virginia Crider King. Survivors include his wife, Joyce King; Janet King Webber, mother of his children, Janet King Webber, Doug King and wife Gretchen, Gary King and wife Kristi, Karen Goble and husband Byron; 7 grandchildren; brother, J. Edwin King of S. Pittsboro, N.C.; sister, Marcia Reichard of Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held at New Providence Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, with The Rev. Dr. Emily Anderson officiating. Receiving of friends will follow in the Atrium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801.
