Joseph R. ‘Randy’ Medlin
Joseph R. ”Randy” Medlin, age 49, of Maryville, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, around 4 a.m. at Blount Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Medlin; father, Sidney Medlin; brothers, James Lee Medlin, Mike Medlin and William Medlin. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Esther Stephens Medlin; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Medlin Nyquist and Casey Nyquist; son, Joseph R. Medlin Jr.; family friend, Danielle Livingston; niece, Cecilia Marsh; longtime friend, Jamie Jamison; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Cathy Medlin; sisters, Reba Queen, Deborah Marsh and Sharon Stephens; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and friends. He was an amazing father and husband who will be deeply missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2012, at the First Apostolic Church, 1723 William Blount Drive, Maryville, at 5 p.m. A celebration of Randy’s life will follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for final expenses are greatly appreciated.
