Katharine ‘Angy’ Phillips Bryant
Katharine “Angy” Phillips Bryant passed away January 6, 2013. She was born August 30, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, and later moved with her family to Atlanta, Ga., and North Carolina, before settling in Tennessee, where she spent most of her life. Preceded in death by husband, Harley Brentley Bryant, Sr.; parents, Robert Glenn Phillips, Sr., and Madge Stiles Phillips; sisters, Virginia Phillips Hargis, Ruthell Phillips Bryant; and brother, Robert Glenn “Bob” Phillips, Jr. Survived by children, Sybil Bryant Gamble (fiance Golman H. Hall), Harley Brentley Bryant, Jr. (Janice); grandchildren, Rodney Bryant Gamble (Patti), Harley Brentley Bryant III (Natasha), Alexander William Bryant (fiancee Donna McCarter) and Nena Maria Bryant; great-grandchildren, Emily and Austin Gamble, Westin and Eric Bryant and Ava Bryant; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will be immediately following with Tom Maxwell officiating.
