Kathryn ‘Katie’ Bramblett
Kathryn “Katie” Bramblett, and “Nana B.,” of Fountain City, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the age of 98. She was born in Belding, Mich., to Arthur and Myrtle Brown on December 29, 1914. She was the last of 11 children and was preceded in death by Margaret, Vernon, Ruth, Charles, Ceyneth, Kendall, Margaret, Jack, Melba, and Bobby. Katie was also preceded in death by her loving, wonderful husband of 50 years, Thomas Lee Bramblett. Tommy and Katie were lifelong members of Smithwood Baptist Church since l945. Katie kept the nursery for over 25 years and served as Sunday School Secretary. Katie enjoyed life, loved everyone, and never met a stranger. She was known for her positive attitude and funny sayings. Her hobbies included playing golf with the ladies at Holston Hills Country Club and “The Swingers” at Whittle Springs, and she made two holes-in-one. Katie visited and baked for the sick, knitted and crocheted afghans for years, delivered for Meals on Wheels, counted pills at Interfaith Clinic for 10 years, sewed clothing for her daughters, and baked and cooked dinners for her family. She was known for Nana’s homemade rolls and her famous chocolate pie. Katie is survived by her two daughters, Julie B. Rochelle and husband Rocky (Alcoa), and Susan B. Rosenfelder and husband Charlie (Knoxville). Her four grandchildren and spouses are Katy R. Jett and husband Craig, Jim Rochelle and wife Jean, Charles Henry “Hank” Rosenfelder, and Mardee Hamilton and husband Lane. Great-grandchildren: Cody and Dalton Jett, Tyler and Rebecca Rochelle, Traeger and Reece Hamilton. The family wishes to thank her caregivers, Sue Drinnon and Anita Russell, the staff at Brakebill Nursing Home and Rehab, and her faithful Inwood II neighbors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Interfaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill Street, Knoxville, TN 37917. Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law. Friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1 p.m. graveside service and interment with Dr. C. Glenn Sullivan and Dr. Mark Gaskins officiating.
