Marian Caldwell Newman

Marian Caldwell Newman, age 91, of Louisville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2012, at Fairpark Health Center. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and had obtained a degree in Business and master degrees in Business and Fine Art. An accomplished concert pianist, she also taught art classes and served in the Officer’s Club of the U.S. Air Force. After her husband, James E. Newman “Ed”, retired she obtained her realtor’s license and started Mark III Properties in Nashville in 1973. She also designed and developed custom homes in partnership with a builder. Marian and Ed returned to Knoxville and built their retirement home on Lake Loudon. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and her husband. Survivors include daughters, Deborah Webb and husband Michael, Marsheine McClurg and husband Sam; son, James Edmund Newman, Jr. “Lebo” and wife Merrill; grandchildren, Caleb Brownlow Newman and wife Lisa, Fairlight Beard and husband Kevin, Gigi Seivers and husband John; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Colson James Newman, Brayden and Bridget Beard, Lindy Parrott and husband James, Krista Parrott and husband Jon; great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Lilly Parrott and Nila Parrott; dear cousins Sammy and Bonnie and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Governor John Sevier Highway, for the interment service.
