Mary Alma Denton
Mary Alma Denton, age 101, of Asbury Place, Maryville, and formerly of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013. Mrs. Denton taught in the Knox County School System for 28 years. Preceded in death by husband, William Izaak Denton, Sr.; and sister, Ruth Greene Cate. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Barger (Bob); daughter, Sandy Curtis (Parker); son, Bill Denton (Dean); nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m., Rev. Cabel Trent officiating. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 9:45 a.m. for interment at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
