Nina B. Blankenship

Nina B. Blankenship, age 91, of Alcoa, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon A. Blankenship; daughter, Sara Blankenship; granddaughter, Shannon Hickman; great-grandson, Jonathan Blankenship; parents, Frances and Sara Grindell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annalee and Otis Bowers, Kate and Homer Murphy, Gladys and Bart McGhee, Ruby and Clarence Kirkland, Edna and Melvin Hammontree, and Dorothy and Nash McCall; brothers, Raymond Lee, William Rosevelt, Benny Franklin, Fred Desmos, and Baby Boy Grindell; brother-in-law and wife, Robert and Pauline Blankenship; sisters-in-law, Marie Hutton and Johnnie English; and several nephews. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Barbara Blankenship, T.J. Blankenship and fiancée, Mattie Williams, and Al and Sonya Blankenship; daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Bill Burt, Anna Head, Missy Blankenship, and Dana Anderson; grandchildren, Chip (Cheryl) Blankenship, Robin Hansford, Christina Headrick, Branditta (Ben) Wright, Damona Valderrama and friend, Jim Samson, and Cheyenne and Skyla Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Rebekah Headrick, Damon and Danica Wright, Kayla Anderson, Jada Warren, Chad and Shayne Blankenship, Jaime and Chance Kirkpatrick, Riley Jones, Tristan Norman, Tatianna and Trinity Valderrama, Dustin and Eric McKenzie, Tabitha Walker, Shala Martin, Evan (Jordan) Haywood, and Cora and Reed McKenzie; great-great-grandchildren, Jasmine Blankenship, Laylynn Martin, Kerionna Martin, Macy Haywood and Briellah Anderson; special nephew, Jimmy Hammontree; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Oakland United Methodist Church with the interment to follow in the church cemetery, Rev. Bill Small officiating.
