Opal Lee ‘Pat’ Broome
Opal Lee “Pat” Broome, age 89, of Greenback, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the home of her special friends and caregivers. She was a member of Morganton Baptist Church in Greenback. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle C. Broome; son, Lee A. Thomas; great-granddaughter, Olivia G. Bowles; and parents, Luther and Margaret Maples. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Tommy Barnard, Margaret and Eddie Ray, and Kathy and John Dixon; son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Jeanie Broome; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; special friends and caregivers, Chad and Polly Evans and Julee Clark; special friend, Ruby Dixon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Family and friends will gather 11 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
