Ray Franklin Abbott, age 82, of Rockford, died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Fairpark Healthcare Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Damia Abbott; brothers, Ralph Abbott and Hubert Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Joy Abbott; stepson, Charles Reneau and wife, Helan; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Emogene Abbott; brothers, Billy and Gordon Abbott; sister-in-law, Mary Abbott; and his 2 special cats, Baby and Betsy. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2012, in the Dotson Wildwood Chapel with the Rev. Damon Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Clarkâs Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at Dotson Funeral Home.
